Previously residing in Westdene (a neighbourhood in Bloemfontein), early hours of the morning, we were awoken by the noises of our bedroom blinds. As we looked towards the window, we noticed a hand protrude through the blinds where the noise came from. WE GOT THE FRIGHT OF OUR LIVES!
Luckily, the intruders ran-off and we were unharmed. However, our BIGGEST fear was that they would return at a later stage.
A good friend of mine suggested that I purchase the Solar Motion Detector. At first, I had a million questions and we were not in the financial position to purchase expensive security devices.
Hi there, I’m Le Roux Fourie, the founder of My Kleine Winkel. My life’s journey began and continues in the vibrant city of Bloemfontein. Alongside me are my two wonderful sisters, my faithful dogs – Boa, Snowy, Bella, and Duches – and the exciting prospect of my upcoming marriage.

Losing my mom to a crime at age 15 was a pivotal moment for me. It’s tough to talk about, but that’s where my passion for safety started. This personal experience is the heartbeat of My Kleine Winkel.

Technology: My Longtime Companion
Tech has been a part of my life since my teens. Studied computer programming, and although I didn’t use it much, it gave me a good understanding of the tech behind our products.
My Kleine Winkel: Born from Resilience
I’ve had my share of different jobs – from hospitality to tech. It was at 28, with my first security system installation, that I really found my calling. After some tough times, 2019 marked the birth of My Kleine Winkel, thanks to an inspiring idea from my friend Willem Pretorius.
As we grew, I was lucky to team up with Nurtaj Mohammed, an SEO genius from Bangladesh. He’s more than an assistant; he’s a partner in this journey, handling everything from SEO to design. His expertise has been crucial in growing our presence online.
Taking into consideration the current crime rate in South Africa, we realised that this might just be the solution for many people that are looking for an affordable early warning system.
Fiddling around with ideas in developing the right website for our vision, we had a couple of friends over for supper. Around the table, the name “My Kleine Winkel” came up and we knew that was just the right name!
Our main focus is safety and security-related products with the focus to expand by adding new products, that can be used in everyday livelihoods.
